Emmaus Community Church Beliefs
Emmaus Community Church of Rockton, IL believes the Bible to be our sole guide for faith and doctrine. Below is a brief doctrinal statement of our church.

Church Belief Statements

  1. Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, serving as the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice.

  2. God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who is the creator and sustainer of all things.

  3. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who was born of the Virgin Mary, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

  4. Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that it involves repentance, regeneration, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

  5. The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers, called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, and serve one another in love.

  6. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that baptism by immersion is an act of obedience for believers, symbolizing their identification with Christ. We also believe in the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice and a proclamation of His return.

  7. Eschatology
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment, where all will stand before God.

  8. Christian Conduct
We believe that Christians are called to live lives that reflect the character of Christ, exhibiting love, holiness, and a commitment to serve others.

  9. Missions
We believe in the Great Commission, affirming our responsibility to share the Gospel locally and globally, making disciples of all nations.

  10. Religious Liberty
We believe in the freedom of religion, affirming the right of each individual to seek and follow God according to their conscience.
